Kenny
Elissonde
Affectionately known as King Kenny inside and outside the team, Kenny Elissonde has quickly become a fan-favorite since he joined Lidl-Trek in 2020 after three years at Team Ineos. A thoroughbred climber, Kenny excels in long mountain climbs, and in his early years as a professional, won the stage summit of the infamous Angliru in the 2013 Vuelta a España. He has excelled as a super-domestique throughout his career, most notably in the Grand Tours. King Kenny checked off his first Tour de France in 2020, where he reunited with Richie Porte and helped the Tasmanian achieve his dream of finishing on the Tour de France podium. In 2021, he came close to capturing his own dream – a Tour de France stage win. Kenny finished second in Stage 11 at the Tour after a concerted effort in the breakaway with teammate Bauke Mollema. Outside of bike racing, Kenny has a keen interest in art, and is undoubtedly one of the nicest riders you'll find in the pro peloton.
