Sara
Svensk

Swedish professional triathlete Sara Svensk had an unconventional entry into the elite world of swimming, biking, and running. Before her first race, her resume as a runner was primarily running eight kilometers each way to a stable where she rode horses for ten years. Upon testing the waters in triathlon, she found her hidden talent. After she discovered how much she loved competing in triathlons, she stepped up her training and her results have been anything but casual. In 2019, she came top 10 in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship and she won Ironman Barcelona. In 2021, she closed the year with a win at Ironman 70.3 Cozumel. Sara still has her sights set on Kona. Keep an eye out for her on the podium!

If you could be any animal, what would you choose?

Cat. It's an independent animal who is very agile and has nine lives.

If you were a brand, what would be your motto?

Be the best you.

Tell us about your greatest achievement as an athlete.

My first triathlon race. I had no idea of what I was doing when I signed up for the race. During the swim I was terrified and actually swam under water to avoid all the people hitting each other. The bike was just a hard warm up for the run and then during the run I had never had such cramp in my stomach. Considering this, it's crazy that I wanted to do it again. But I fell in love with the sport in that moment. It will always be a day to remember, a day that changed my life.

If you could vistin anywhere in the world you've never been, where would you go?

Iceland, because I grew up with Icelandic horses and would love to ride one in Iceland.
