Antonio Nibali is the younger brother of Vincenzo by nine years and will be starting his sixth season as a professional in 2020. He began his professional career in 2015, ten years after Vincenzo, and it wasn’t until 2017 that he first raced with his brother when the two joined Bahrain Merida. Antonio is a proficient climber who is still finding his mark in cycling, not easy when trailing behind his brother’s illustrious footsteps. In 2018, he won his first professional race, taking victory in Stage 7 at the Tour of Austria. A dedicated professional, he’s not one to shun the hard and often unrewarding work required of domestiques. While his celebrated brother may grab the biggest headlines, it is riders like Antonio, that quietly help make that happen.
