Talented climber Antwan Tolhoek joined Trek-Segafredo in 2022, ready to rejuvenate his career. The Dutch rider has ridden predominantly in a domestique role with Jumbo-Visma since 2017, his only win coming in a stage at the Tour de Suisse in 2019. Although Antwan didn’t raise his hands in the air in 2021, his 2nd place overall at Vuelta a Andalucia was an indication of his ability. With the offer to have more opportunities to ride in breakaways and go for the GC in one-week stage races, Antwan made the hard decision to leave a team he had been with for five years. He reunites with Director Steven de Jongh, who discovered Antwan’s talent in 2015 while working with Tinkoff-Saxo.
