Markus
Hoelgaard

This will be Markus Hoelgaard’s first go at the WorldTour after three years with the Norwegian Pro Team Uno-X.  Markus has developed into a powerful all-rounder in the past years, and 2021 was a breakthrough year for the 27-year-old. He mixed it up with the WorldTour’s best in E3 Saxo Bank Classic, coming away with a more than respectable 8th place in a tough edition. In the Classics-style World Championships road race in Leuven, Markus showed it wasn’t a one-off, finishing in 12th place. He also netted 7th in the European road championships, added 2nd overall in the Tour of Croatia, and capped it all with a stage win in the Artice Race of Norway. Markus has the characteristics of a good Classics rider - he’s a good climber that can handle the sharp climbs typical of the northern Classics - and will be looked upon to boost the team’s Classic squad.
