Katie expands UCI count with victory in Poldercross
Katie took a commanding win at the Poldercross race this weekend, taking victory over an in-form Maud Kaptheijns and Telenet-Fidea bastion Ellen Van Loy.
"Kruibeke went great and I felt strong. It was a fast and typical grassy cross course with lots of switchback turns and up down the side of a dyke. I got off to a good start and was able to relax and slowly move to the front. Once I caught Maud, who was off the front from he start, I recovered a bit and then accelerated at the top of one of the hills with just under 2 laps to go and got a gap which I held till the end. So far I’m enjoying the racing in Belgium and starting to settle into the routine of it. The courses are all so different and fun in their own way."
