Good-bye Muddy

The Christmas festivities at TFRDH (Trek Factory Racing Downhill) are tinged with sadness this week as we bid a fond farewell to our favourite Aussie and 2017 teammate Graeme Mudd.

Team Director Dan Brown said: “It was a fun year with Muddy on board, he fitted into the family with ease. Full credit to him for embracing the Welsh weather and pushing so hard in his quest for top performances. We wish him all the best in his future racing endeavours and welcome him in the pits at any time for a nice cup of tea!”

Where it all began – first gondola up during the World Cup Round 1, Lourdes, France.

Muddy is currently at home with his family in Newcastle, Australia, where he’s sending his freezing team-mates lots of scorching beach pictures!

Muddy said: “These guys did so much for me this year, At the beginning of 2017 I said it was a dream come true and that stands, I’ve had a fantastic time and learnt a lot but for all kinds of reasons things just didn’t line up in terms of results. It was rad racing this year in a team environment, sharing the experience.

The aftermath of probably the craziest run of the season – and Muddy’s best result with the team – at Mont St Anne, Canada.

“I loved hanging out at the finish watching the other TFRDH amigos come down and seeing what they could do. And then have a beer and talk about the week at ‘work’. I’ll definitely be paying them some visits.”

It was at Red Bull Hardline 2016 that the team all became Massive Muddy fans, so here’s a last shot from the 2017 event – sending the road gap.

Muddy mate, we all wish you the very best.
