TFR Enduro goes after challenging course
Rocks, rain, and roots. Tasmania threw everything it had at the riders of the Enduro World Series this weekend. Although dry and pleasant conditions greeted riders for the practice days, it was April showers for race day.
The team raced well, with Katy Winton grabbing a 5th place in the race, and moving up to 3rd overall for the Enduro World Series.
Casey Brown experience heartbreak, having a crash that took her out of the running for a good result.
Lewis Buchanan looked to be having a great race, however experienced some some bad news after the race, essentially nullifying his effort. In his words;
"My weekend was a huge step in the right direction. I rode smart and limited the mistakes allowing me to finish 11th overall and grab some really good stage results. Unfortunately I received a 5 minute penalty due to dropping my water bladder before stage 7 which dropped me to the back of the pack. I was unaware that there was a rule in place for this but at least I know now and it will not happen again. I am still new to the Enduro discipline and sometimes it takes something like that to learn. All in all I was 11th fastest and that's a great result for my second race back from injury."
Katy Winton once again showed that she is a rising talent in the Enduro discipline, racing to a 5th place finish on the day. Katy scored top-3 times on stages one, three, and seven, putting her in excellent position by the end of the race.
With the 5th place, Katy moves into third overall in the Enduro World Series.
