O’Donnell wins IM Boulder

Tim O'Donnell notches impressive win on home court

For Tim O’Donnell, winning a full distance Ironman is always an incredible feeling. Doing it in his hometown makes it extra special. Tim put serious preparation into the race, and came out swinging for an event he was motivated to win. In his words,

"I took the bull by the horns right from the start and set the pace early in the swim, eventually breaking away from the lead group halfway through the swim. From there it was a long solo effort the rest of the day, gradually opening the gap in the three lap course."

"I hit T2 with 6:40 and kept building on that during the run. You never get through an Ironman feeling great for the entire 8 hours, but I was happy to be strong all day and to keep the dark patches to a minimum. I'm excited to build off of this win as a begin my focus on the Ironman World Champs this fall!"
