TFR triathlon takes weekend win

Holly Lawrence takes a win with Tim Reed scoring a second place

It was a weekend of podiums the Trek Factory Racing triathlon program. Holly Lawrence took the win at IM 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, along with a second place for Tim Reed at IM 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championships.

The win for Holly comes after a frustrating World Championship race, and was a fantastic way for her to finish the season.

"I couldn't have imagined a better way finish my season with a win here at 70.3 Middle East Champs Bahrain. Especially after the disappointment of World Champs in September. I really had to fight for it too, after coming out of the water in the lead I lost a bit of time to Daniela (Ryf) on the bike."

"Out on the run I was making up time quickly by the second lap managed to pass and gap her, I just had to fend off Anne Haug who was running fast from behind and made for a stressful last couple of Km's, but a win is a win, and I couldn't be happier! I'm so excited already for next year!"

Tim came into the Australian based Asia-Pacific championship race well rested and ready to get back to the half distance events.

“It’s been really enjoyable going back to training for four hours of racing instead of eight, and I’ve felt my top end speed, especially on the bike come along well since Kona with the extra recovery time. After losing some time in the swim I reached the front of the race with five KMs to go on the bike, and started the run with all the favorites. I couldn’t hold onto first but managed to steal second place in a finish chute sprint from Kiwi Champion, Braden Currie. “
