Lauren Goss wins IM 70.3 Cartagena

Goss leads wire-to-wire to take a dominant win in Colombia

American Lauren Goss dominated the women’s field at Ironman 70.3 Cartagena in Colombia.

Lauren led from the gun, having the fastest swim, bike, and run and ended with a winning time of 4:22.54.

Racing in Colombia in 100-degree temps coming from snowy Colorado was tough! I wanted to see my limit and see what I could do.

Lauren combined race-best splits in the swim (26:38), bike (2:23:12), and run (1:29:57) to finish with a 7:41 winning margin over compatriot Christen Brown and 14:42 over third-place finisher Susana Guillen of Panama.

Racing in December is always tough, and I wanted to see what I had left in the tank after an eight-month season. I guess I still had something as I was able to lead wire to wire!
