Podiums at IM 70.3 Oceanside

Lawrence and Reed make the podium at California classic

The early season IM 70.3 Oceanside is always a time for the world’s best to test their preperation. Such was the case this year, as a stacked field of talent lined up in California.

Representing Trek Factory Racing was the duo of Tim Reed and Holly Lawrence. Tim would end up in third, and Holly would end up in second.

"I have to be happy with second place at 70.3 Oceanside," said Holly Lawrence. "It’s always guaranteed to be a stacked field and it didn’t disappoint. After a solid swim, I rode a bit too hard in the first 30 minutes trying to put distance in straight away and paid the price for the second half of the bike but pleased to have a solid run and not lose my head with Anne Haug from Germany running me down."

“A tough fair race," said Tim Reed. "Great swim, solid bike with a 20 KM bad patch in there and a solid run. Lots of work to do before the Ironman 70.3 US Championships in a month but I’m gaining steady progress with each race so far this year.“
