World Cup Koksijde report

Pidcock wins and takes World Cup overall with Nagengast

It was an eventful Sunday, with Telenet-Fidea riders making a strong impression in the classic sand dunes of Koksijde. Taking the win in the mens U-23 race was Tom Pidcock, who also secured the World Cup overall for his age group. Also taking the overall U-23 jersey for the ladies was Fleur Nagengast. Not to be outdone, Lars van der Haar grabbed second place in the mens elite race.

Fleur took an 18th place finish in the day’s elite race, however placed high enough in the U-23 classification to take the overall World Cup lead.

Katie Compton continued her exceptional form to finish fifth on the day.

Lars van der Haar stayed in the fight all day, finishing in second place behind a flawless Mathieu van der Poel.
