The Telenet-Fidea Lions were arguably the best team of the weekend, as National Championships took place in Europe. Quinten Hermans was the cream of the crop, adding the Belgian U23 title to the European title he holds since October and making his season unforgettable. Quinten’s team mate Nicolas Cleppe came second. Thijs Aerts was fifth.
In The Netherlands Corne Van Kessel took the silver medal behind Mathieu van der Poel. Recently recruited Telenet-Fidea Lion Lars van der Haar took fourth, a promising result as he return from injury.
In Belgium Ellen Van Loy won the bronze medal in the elite women’s race. Jolien Verschueren was fourth.
Finally, in the Junior men’s race Yentl Bekaert was second and Arne Vrachten was fifth.
