Gateway Harley Trek animates Joe Martin

Gateway Harley-Davidson Trek stay at the front for early season race

It was an incredible weekend of racing at the Joe Martin Stage Race, the kickoff to the USA Cycling Pro Road Tour. The team went into the race with the goal of making the race exciting, and looking for stage wins.

In each road race, the team was represented in the breakaway by Matt Zimmer, who kept the pressure off for his teammates to setup for the inevitable bunch kick. Friday’s race saw Bryan come in 3rd , with Saturday seeing a 5th.

Sunday’s criterium, arguably the hardest day of the weekend, gave the boys in orange a chance to flex. Micah made the break of the day and finished 4th, Bryan won the field sprint for 8th, and Dennis came home in 15th.  The team took top honors in the Team Competition on Sunday.

Gateway Harley-Davidson Trek is now sitting in 6th in the PRT standings as a team, with Bryan sitting in 8th.  All eyes are looking forward to improving on those positions this coming weekend in Alabama at the Sunny King Criterium and McClellan Road Race.
