A triumphant season for the Telenet Fidea Lions

The Lions' successful 2018-2019 cyclocross season highlighted in images.

With the cyclocross season officially over, the Telenet Fidea Lions have added up the results, and the number is a staggering 83 podiums! Undoubtedly, the star of the team was Toon Aerts who captured 31 podiums in 37 races.

The Lions ended their highly successful season last weekend and can proudly boast that each of the 12 riders stepped onto the podium at least once. A true team effort.

The Lions most memorable result of the season came early when Toon Aerts won the Waterloo World Cup at the home of Trek Bikes. There he donned the leader’s jersey, which he held until the penultimate World Cup, and promptly won it for good a week later in a thrilling winner-takes-all final.

The Lions wrapped up an incredible season with two medals (silver and bronze) at the World Championships in Denmark.

For Telenet Fidea Lions, the 2018-2019 CX season was a great one, from start to finish! It all started with a win from Lars (van der Haar) on the Muur of Geraardsbergen and a perfect period at the American World Cups. And the whole team just kept on performing at the highest level throughout the season. It pleases me a lot to see that each and every rider of our team stepped onto a podium this winter because it proves our strength as a TEAM. Every single one of them is an important piece of the TFL puzzle.
