Rider profile: Elisa Longo Borghini

An inside look at what this Italian is wearing and riding this Tour

She can climb, is proficient in the time trial, has a knack for getting in the right breakaway, and has an extensive palmarès of podiums over her eight-year career to prove it. Elisa Longo Borghini made her professional debut in 2011 at the age of 18 and like a good wine has been getting better and better ever since. Some of her most significant accolades include being the first Italian to win the Tour of Flanders (2015), a bronze medal In her first Olympics (2016), and winning Strade Bianche (2017). She is a multi-National Champion in the time trial and won the road title in 2017. In 2019, Elisa soloed to a thrilling victory in the final stage at the Emakumeen Bira WorldTour race, winning the stage and clinching the overall by two seconds – her first win for Trek-Segafredo, but certainly not her last.
