On a rain-soaked and shortened fourth stage Jakob wins in Pécs!
On the menu: a day covered in rain from Mohács to Pécs. Jakob only had one goal, which was to be in the breakaway for a chance to win the stage.
With one lap to go, the organisation canceled the last lap due to torrential rain, which prompted Jakob to immediately attack on the final climb.
With this win, Jakob also takes the first place in the GC, with a 40 second gap on Cosnefroy (UAE Team Emirates XRG).

Jakob on his win in Hungary:
“It was the only option for me to be in the break today. I was 100% sure I was going to be in the break, no matter what. When they canceled the last lap, it was more of a stress for myself to hear just before the climb that we were going to finish now. I was fully set to do the last lap as well.”
“I just had a super day and got away with a stage win, so I am just really happy about it. This weather suits me well. I am Scandinavian, so I was doing alright!”
