Jakob finishes second in the prologue of Boucles de la Mayenne

A strong start of the week for the team in France with three top-ten finishes!

Jakob Söderqvist continues his good form from Hungary in France. At the prologue, Jakob clocked a strong time and took the provisional top spot with a 5 second gap. Only Julius Johansen (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) recorded a faster time, pushing Jakob to the second place.

Not only Jakob had a strong start of the week. Søren Kragh Andersen was flying over the course, taking seventh place. Our other youngster, Héctor Álvarez was the third riding in the top ten, finishing eight today.

Jakob on his podium in Laval:
“It was difficult to just get going after Hungary, but for sure I managed to do the most out of it today and I found a lot more than I had in the last day, so let’s say I was relieved when I came over the finish line. Then for one moment we thought that this was secured, but then Julius Johansson surprised us a bit, and I give him all the chapeaus I can give him. (…) In the prologue I will always go for the win. But for the rest of the race, we have quite some power in the team here, so we will play it out according to our plan.”
