Thibau entered the racing scene under immense pressure as the son of cyclocross legend Sven Nys. As he has stepped into the elite and WorldTour ranks, he has more than lived up to the name. On the cyclocross side, he won the U23 World Championship during the 2022-23 season, and opened the 2023-24 season with his first career elite World Cup win. On the road side, he won a stage at the 2023 Tour of Norway on his way to winning the points jersey and finishing third on the general classification.
