Mattias emerged as a team leader and one of Lidl-Trek's best riders over the last several seasons. In 2023, he won the general classification at the Tour de Suisse, one of four GC top five finishes during the season, and played a pivotal role in helping Giulio Ciccone win the King of the Mountains jersey at the Tour de France. He also won the Danish road race title, and finished second at Flèche Wallonne in a sprint with Tadej Pogačar. In 2024, he won the Danish time trial national title, and placed fifth on GC and won the youth classification at the Vuelta a España. There's no doubt about it: "Skjelly" is ready for his spotlight.
