Mattias emerged as a team leader and one of Lidl-Trek's best riders in 2023. He won the general classification at the Tour de Suisse, one of four GC top five finishes during the season, and played a pivotal role in helping Giulio Ciccone win the King of the Mountains jersey at the Tour de France. He also won the Danish road race title, and finished second at Flèche Wallonne in a sprint with Tadej Pogačar. There's no doubt about it: "Skjelly" is ready for his spotlight.
