At 198 centimeters (6 feet 6 inches), Daan is one of the tallest riders in the pro peloton. Daan has a penchant for the Classics and time trials, and by his second year in the Under-23 category emerged as a force to be reckoned with, notably in tough, one-day races. The tall rouleur is a graduate of the U23 development team SEG Racing Academy, renowned for introducing many young talents to the WorldTour. Daan quickly showed his value to the Trek-Segafredo management and earned a place in the classics squad for races such as Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders in his debut season with the Team. The young Dutchman also bagged podiums in both the road race and time trial at his national championships, but is eager to secure his first professional victory in 2023.
