Watch Lucinda Brand take on 3 U.S. World Cups in 8 days

A new video from SRAM goes behind the scenes with the defending world champion

The start of the 2021-22 UCI Cyclocross World Cup was festive and raucous and brilliant fun. Trek CX Cup weekend in Waterloo kicked things off with an unforgettable women’s race, and the excitement continued with a drenched, muddy race in Fayetteville and a legendary climb in Iowa City.

In sum: Three of the biggest cyclocross races of the year took place within eight days across three states. In case you missed it, SRAM followed three riders — Baloise Trek’s own Lucinda Brand, as well as Maghalie Rochette and American Clara Honsinger — as they soaked in the atmosphere and rode their guts out in front of ‘cross-crazed crowds.

You can watch the video, titled “Steps to the Top,” below:

Brand not only won the rainbow stripes last year, but she is the defending World Cup overall champion, too. She’s off to a strong start already, with wins in Fayetteville and at the Superprestige series race in Gieten, Netherlands.

She’ll be in action again on Sunday, Oct. 31, for the World Cup race in Overijse, along with Baloise Trek teammates like Toon Aerts, Lars van der Haar and Shirin van Anrooij. Follow the Lions on Instagram for more of their adventures!
