Driftless rocks out-of-this-world ‘Terrestrial’ Project One paint scheme for Unbound!

Ahead of the meanest gravel race of the year, the Driftless squad is celebrating the elements that make the sport great

It’s Unbound Gravel week! The 200-mile crown jewel of gravel racing is the ultimate showcase for the Trek Checkmate and Checkpoint. And of course, the Driftless crew is dressed to impress.

Haley Hunter Smith, Russell Finsterwald, Torbjørn “Toby” Andre Røed and Paige Onweller are riding on Trek’s new “Terrestrial” paint scheme this week, available now through Project One. Like Unbound, the paint scheme is a celebration of the Earthly elements — dirt, rain, mud, and even the occasional storm (as Haley found out recently) — that make riding gravel the best form of Type 2 fun. And as Trek’s otherworldly paint team demonstrates, those elements look rad on a bike.

The perfect scheme for the gritty confines of gravel racing.

Struck by lightning.
