Global race support program will see Trek frames
SRAM Neutral Race Support (NRS) has provided neutral race service for more than a decade to top professional events across the United States, Europe, and Australia. For 2019 SRAM’s neutral service team will once again travel the globe to provide in-race service, getting riders back to racing as quickly as possible.
A sweet addition for 2019 is Trek Bicycles joining as the official frame supplier through 2020. The complete fleet includes a balance of Trek Emonda SL, Emonda ALR, and Boone framesets.
The Trek Emonda SL is an ultralight carbon road bike that will carry SRAM’s latest wireless RED eTap AXS componentry, including HRD disc brakes. The bikes are painted red with white decals to match the SRAM brand and the Trek Factory Racing heritage.
The lightweight Emonda ALR road machine will showcase SRAM’s all new Force eTap AXS groupset. The Boone is Trek’s carbon cyclocross bike and will be equipped with a combination of Force and RED eTap AXS componentry.
“The SRAM neutral support program is a bastion of the global racing scene, and it’s a pleasure to be working with them to build an incredible fleet of bikes. Trek is proud to be part of such a storied and supportive program providing a best in class product to keep racers doing what they do best, race!” said Tim Vanderjeugd, Trek Sports Marketing Director.
Zipp is the official wheel, stem, handlebar and tire supplier. Every NRS bike will be equipped with the perfect combination of 303 NSW and Firecrest wheelsets, Zipp Service Course SL and carbon SL handlebars, stems, seatposts, as well as Zipp Tangente tires. Veteran technician Mark Niemiec, who brings more than two decades of experience in event and rider support, will once again guide SRAM’s 2019 NRS effort.
“This year it will be great to supply any athlete in need one of these incredibly refined, fast and light Trek race bikes. These bikes are what most of us dream of riding, plus they look super sweet not only under riders but on top of the NRS cars,” said Niemiec.
