Zubeldia’s retirement honored with custom Madone

Ahead of the final stage of the Tour de France, Haimar Zubeldia was presented with a custom-made Trek Madone to recognize his distinguished 20 years as a professional cyclist.

Zubeldia, a strong climber, has built his career predominantly as a crucial support rider to the team’s general classification leaders. He just completed his 16th Tour de France, and over the years he has finished an impressive five times in the top 10 in the iconic Grand Tour. But more than these impressive results, Zubeldia has been a steadfast teammate throughout the years.

The one-of-a-kind HZ Madone highlights Zubeldia’s incredible achievements: completing the Tour de France 16 times, Vuelta a España 12 times, and the Giro d’Italia once.

Zubeldia will compete in his final race on July 29th, the Clásica Ciclista San Sebastián, a prestigious classic held in the Basque Country that passes a few streets from his front door. It is a fitting race to call his last, a race close to his heart, a race he calls his own.

Haimar will pedal his last race on this beautifully crafted Madone, created specifically to honor the occasion.
