A perfect ending in China for the Lidl-Trek women

Anna Henderson capped-off our women's team trip to China with a two-up sprint victory in Nanning at the Tour of Guangxi.

The women’s team came close to victory at the Tour of Chongming Island, but it was the British rider from Lidl-Trek who finally stood onto the top step of the podium after an aggressive race in the final Women’s WorldTour race of the 2025 season.

Together with Caroline Andersson (Jayco-AlUla), Henderson broke away from a leading group of riders, which also included Riejanne Markus, on the final ascent of the Qingxiushan climb – 1.3km at 11.5% – with around 20 kilometers to go.

The duo worked together to hold off the chase from the rgroup of six in pursuit behind and had an advantage of around 50 seconds with just five kilometers remaining and, in the end, held onto the gap comfortably to be able to fight for the win.

Henderson was in prime position, on Andersson’s wheel, heading towards the line and had the pace to leap from her wheel and to claim the second Women’s WorldTour win of her career, after stage 2 of the Giro d’Italia Women earlier in the season.

In Anna’s words…

I am super happy because we came to China to get some wins and we had a bit of bad luck with sickness and at Chongming Island, it just didn't go our way.

We were super good as a team today, always in control. Clara wasn't at 100 percent but still could control in the beginning and then Emma and Rie in the middle. We were always in the right breakaway, we were always in the moves, we never missed anything and then, I was just really lucky that I had a really good day on the bike.

I was super good on the climb so I could attack twice and then, make these small groups. I had Elisa behind all the time so I could always play that game of Elisa's coming.

Overall I am just super happy and it's really nice to finish the season like this. My first year with Lidl-Trek ending in a win, it's been really good.
