Elisa Balsamo takes the win in a tight sprint to the line to claim stage 3 of the Tour de Suisse.
Our resident sprinter secured a brilliant victory in Stage 3 of the Tour de Suisse Women, narrowly edging out Mischa Bredewold in a photo finish. The stage concluded in Küssnacht after a 123.1 km from Campus Sursee, Oberkirch.
After a cagey run in to the line with plenty of crashes, the team positioned our fast Italian up near the head of affairs in a bid to stay out of trouble. Elisa found herself on the front early meaning she had to launch her sprint nearly 300 meters from the line, just holding off a surging Bredewold. This victory marks Balsamo’s fifth win of the season and second victory in the the Tour de Suisse Women.

My teammates worked so hard today, they knew I really wanted to win. In the end, it was a super long sprint, maybe too long but it was a good win. Today was a really big goal for us so I'm really really happy. I was suffering so much the last two days with my focus just on today so yeah, it was a really good one.
