In only her second road race of the season, Fleur Moors hit a career milestone and officially made her mark on the women's peloton.
After finishing sixth at the Antwerp Port Epic Ladies just yesterday (7 June), Moors sprinted to the win from a six-rider breakaway that formed in the final kilometers of Dwars door de Westhoek.
The 19-year-old Belgian was able to capitalize on yet another aggressive team performance from the women at Lidl-Trek with another young talent, Felicity Wilson-Haffenden, lighting up the 127-kilometer race with a solo move that helped animate the second half of the day and set the stage for the late counter attack.
With under 10 kilometers to go, Moors bridged across to a select group of six riders and, despite pressure from the chasing peloton, the group held onto a slender advantage going into the final kilometer.
The bunch had the leaders in their sights as the finish line came into view but it was too late with Susanne Andersen (UNO-X Mobility, winner in Antwerp) launching her sprint first while, Moors timed her effort perfectly, surging alongside her with 100 meters to go before taking victory on the line.
A career milestone for Fleur Moors today as she takes her first pro win! 💪🏆 pic.twitter.com/xNBi203wNu

In Fleur’s Words…
I’m so happy as I’ve had a pretty tough time recently. On Saturday, I finished sixth in my first road race of the season and now I’ve won my second. It’s a big victory for me. The race went really well today. In the final, Felicity Wilson-Haffenden attacked from our group. As soon as she was caught, I attacked. I was able to get across to the lead group of six and battle it out for the win.
I owe a lot of thanks to our DS, Ina Teutenberg. She advised me to try to save my energy in that group and just focus entirely on the sprint. It was very tight on the line between myself and Susanne Anderson for the win. This victory is a huge relief for me. It’s the first weekend where I feel like a bike rider again.
