Rest in Peace, Pepinho
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of our dear friend and trusted Team mechanic, José Eduardo Santos, following a heart attack.
Known by all around him as Pepinho, José Eduardo has been part of the Trek-Segafredo family since 2011, after a long and successful career as a mechanic for some of the most important teams in cycling history.
A highly-regarded colleague and member of the cycling community, Pepinho was known for his calm and reassuring disposition. His presence will be deeply missed.
Despite being a gentle soul, Pepinho would sometimes break his composed demeanour to sing Fado, the popular music of his beloved Portugal, which he interpreted with a unique intensity and passion.
