The 2016 stagiaire will finish the season with Trek-Segafredo.
Italian allrounder Jacopo Mosca, currently racing for the Italian continental team D’Amico-UM Tools, will join the team beginning August 1, 2019, until the end of the year.
Mosca, 25, was a stagiaire with Trek-Segafredo in 2016 and is thrilled to get the opportunity to race with the team again.
“After my first experience with the team, three years ago, I am very excited to wear the Trek-Segafredo jersey again,” said Mosca. “This is another big opportunity for me, and I will do my very best and give my all. I am really looking forward to August and to starting this last part of the season.”
While with Trek-Segafredo in 2016, Mosca raced the Tour of Utah, the Tour of Britain – where he finished 10th overall – and the Abu Dhabi Tour, as well as a few one-day events.
Trek-Segafredo General Manager: “We decided to add an extra rider to our roster for the rest of the season since we have a few riders who were injured (Alex Kirsch, Matteo Moschetti, Will Clarke) and we don’t want to jeopardize their recovery by putting too much pressure on them to come back too fast, too soon. We really want to give them enough time to return at a good level. We also have Markel Irizar retiring after the Clásica San Sebastián.
“Since Jacopo joined us as a stagiaire, we have kept him on our radar and followed his progression. He has shown to be a strong allrounder and that’s exactly what we are looking for, so we are happy to welcome him to the team again.”
