Adegeest adds another prestigious one-day victory to her palmarès
Loes Adegeest delivered a powerful finish in Callac on Thursday, sprinting to victory at the Kreiz Breizh Elites Féminin and securing her first win of the 2026 season for Lidl-Trek.
The Dutch rider was part of a four-rider group that emerged in the closing stages of the 134.2-kilometer race. With the decisive move established, Adegeest stayed composed alongside Mavi García, Sarah Van Dam and Magdeleine Vallieres, setting up a four-way battle for victory and relying on her speed for the finish.
When the sprint opened, Adegeest timed her effort perfectly. The 30-year-old produced a strong acceleration to take the win ahead of García, with Van Dam third and Vallieres fourth.
The victory marks the fourth professional win of Adegeest’s career and her first at UCI level since joining Lidl-Trek. Her previous professional victories include the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in 2023 and a stage of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya Femenina in 2025.
Adegeest’s success was also supported by a strong team performance, with Margot Vanpachtenbeke finishing seventh, 55 seconds behind the winner. Niamh Fisher-Black and Anna Henderson were also among the top-20.
For Adegeest, the result is a timely reward after a busy summer that included the Tour de France Femmes and several strong performances in WorldTour competition.
In the winner's words
The race went pretty easy at the start, then we had a steep climb after 40km. There the pace was high and I already felt I had good legs, so I tried to save a bit for the final. Once we got on the circuits with about 40km to go, it got harder and Niamh and Margot started attacking.
We had Margot in a good break with three, but eventually it came back. In the second last lap, I attacked on the steep climb. I just went full blast over it. A group of four formed and it was just one lap to go. I focused on not dropping because I was pretty confident I was the fastest of those riders, so I concentrated on the sprint.
I really looked forward to this race as I knew the course suited me, so it was a big goal and it makes it even nicer to finish it off like this.
