Enervit has launched its brand-new line of products, C 2:1 PRO, created with the feedback of the Lidl-Trek performance team and riders
The Tour de France is in its hottest phase. The decisive third week has now begun. For everyone, cycling fans and insiders, it is common knowledge that the last six stages are the hardest, most hectic and the most exhausting. This is defined by the route, full of climbs (this year, the Alps are the protagonists) and the kilometres covered so far (over 2,600!).
Among all the aspects related to performance, nutrition is perhaps the one that, more than any other, has grown in importance. What riders eats plays a strategic role when the body is fatigued: the pre and post-race meals, but above all, the food that riders eat during the stage.
Enervit’s ‘special recipe’ has a name, or rather, an acronym: C 2:1 PRO. This is the new line that has been created, thanks also to the feedback of the Team, to guarantee what the riders need for their performance.
C 2:1 PRO are products based on a glucose/fructose ratio of precisely 2:1. An innovative formula designed to support athletes at their most intense times and minimize the risk of intestinal stress.
“For us, Enervit’s experience on the ground is a considerable added value,” continues Stephanie Scheirlynck. “During the years of our partnership, we have made our contribution to constantly improve the product, always finding an attentive and competent listener.”
“The C 2:1 PRO line is innovative because it allows the ingestion of more than 60g of carbohydrates per hour, which was previously universally known as the limit for digestibility. From race to race, we decide on the dosage we consider most appropriate for the water bottles. 30gr, 60gr, or on colder days, even 90gr. If you combine these quantities with other products from the same line, such as bars or gels, you get a quantity of carbohydrates that was previously difficult to consume without incurring digestive problems.”
