4th place yesterday, 2nd place today. We like the direction this is heading.
After yesterday’s 4th place on Stage 1 of Setmana Ciclista Valencia, the team knew Elisa had the legs to fight it out for victory on today’s challenge: a hilly 134km stage from Benicássim to Nules. Two back-to-back climbs at the halfway mark meant the sprint was from a reduced group, and with Lidl-Trek well represented and Elisa ready for the final, it was up to the team to pull hard and reel in the lone breakaway rider.

Post race reaction from Elisa
The team did a good job today, we really tried to survive on the climbs. FDJ-Suez pulled hard to try and keep the breakaway under control and in the end, we were pushing to close the gap and the girls did a really great job.

With 4km to go, thanks to long pulls from Spratty and Riejanne, the break was caught and it was up to Anna and Lauretta to guide Elisa home.
In the last few km's, it was chaos. I just tried to sprint and I was really close to the win but in the end it was not enough.
Elisa was boxed in and by the time she could unleash her sprint, the line was coming too fast. Second place in the end and a sign that the legs are there for a big 2025.
