Trek expands support for Trek | Vaude!

Trek and Trek | Vaude are strengthening their proven formula for rider development

For two years, Trek-Vaude has been helping young mountain bikers thrive at the World Cup level. For 2023, the team will become an even bigger part of the Trek Bikes ecosystem. Trek-Vaude will receive expanded support from the company, allowing team manager Bernd Reutemann to build on a unique, holistic and proven approach to rider development.

“Our goal from the beginning was to offer our riders a solid basis for their personal and sporting development in the U23 sector,” Reutemann said. “We try to provide them with a professional environment so that, in the long term, they can be successful both in the sport and away from it.”

Trek-Vaude’s unique development program relies on forward-thinking science and data, and a team culture that emphasizes fun and camaraderie. The results have been outstanding. In 2021, Mona Mitterwallner had a perfect season, sweeping the women’s U23 World Cup series and winning a World Championship. In 2022, a host of Trek-Vaude riders had success: Alex Miller took third at the Commonwealth Games; Bjorn Riley, Luisa Daubermann and Mario Bair all took U23 World Cup podiums; and Riley and Miller won American and Namibian national championships, respectively.

With the expanded support of Trek Bikes, Trek-Vaude and Reutemann are excited to continue building on their successful formula and elevate MTB’s future stars. Trek Bikes is proud to continue supporting healthy and sustainable development pipelines that emphasize riders over pure results.

“It’s hard to find the fight combination of ingredients for healthy development in MTB, but the structure Bernd manages definitely delivers,” Tim Vanderjeugd, Trek Bikes Sports Marketing Director, said. “We’re excited to expand our relationship with this team in 2023, and work to develop not only great racers, but great people!”
