Jolanda Neff wins HC race in Germany
It was a wild weekend for Jolanda Neff, who took a solid weekend in Germany in the early season HC Heuback Bike the Rock race. Condition’s proved difficult, with cold weather and snow hitting the course the day prior.
Jolanda will start the 2019 season in her European Champion's kit, which takes precedence over her Swiss National Championship kit.
Conditions aside, Jolanda made it work in order to take it to the line for the win.
I’m very pleased to have won the HC race in Heubach which is only my second MTB race of the year. Really excited about racing big tires for the next months! It snowed for seven hours the day before, race day no rain or snow, but the course was of course very muddy which I like. In the downhills I could really make the difference, but uphill I have a little more work to do. Anne Tauber and I were battling it out, taking turns in the lead, and this changed up when she had a double flat and needed to go in the tech zone. I was on her wheel when it happened but setup held up. I’m not yet in my top shape but I’m really happy with today’s sensations two weeks ahead of Albstadt. I head to Solothurn still next week as a final test before the full WC season!
