Tempier fourth at nationals

Trek Factory Racing XC rider misses podium in France

This past weekend, numerous XC riders traveled to their respective homes for National Championships. Such was the case for Stephane Tempier of the XC team, who was looking to trade in his team colors kit for a French Tricolor edition. Although a promising start with the podium and top step in sight, a forth place finish was the best Stephane could manage.

Plenty of technical sections on the day

I was obviously here to do better, but a huge congratulations to Sarrou who was clearly the strongest.

Open sections showed the wide range of terrain

“I had a great start,” said Stephane. “In the second lap, Sarrou and Koretzky took the lead. I was just a few second behind and I was working to to close the gap. I had Carod with me (racing on the same team as Sarrou). By the time I got to the lead group, Sarrou has gone alone, and it was just Koretzky there. After that, there was a battle for the podium. I lost my third place in the last lap, paying for my effort in chasing down the leaders. I am disappointed because I was obviously here to do better, but a huge congratulations to Sarrou who was clearly the strongest.”

Stephane keeps rolling into coming races

Be sure to keep in touch with the team as they keep racing in National level races, leading up the Nove Mesto World Cups.
