Jolanda Neff dominates CX Nationals

The Swiss mountain bike and road champion adds the cyclocross title to her name.

Jolanda Neff was highly favored going into the Swiss cyclocross championships and didn’t disappoint, claiming the title and giving her the national jersey to wear in three disciplines: road, mountain bike, and cyclocross.

It was an extreme race in terms of weather: the conditions were two degrees (Celsius) and rain – a little bit colder and we would have had snow, but it was just warm enough to be a really cold rain instead. The race itself was good for me, I felt good and I could ride away from the beginning and drive my own pace, which was very nice.

I am extremely happy that I have these three titles – road, cyclocross and mountain bike. It’s of course nice to have these titles but what is really of interest to me is riding internationally, and this is what I really enjoyed over the Christmas period in Belgium to do the races with the best of the world.

That is what makes it really exciting for me, but nevertheless, I am enjoyed having won this title and take some [UCI] points with me, which will hopefully help my starting position. Very happy with that.

Jolanda Neff now heads to Mallorca to join the Trek-Segafredo team at their January training camp, before she finishes the cyclocross season with the final world cup in Hoogerheide followed by the World Championships in Denmark.
