Chuck takes 2nd, Shandro wins Juniors

Charlie Harrison and Ethan Shandro score podiums at Windrock Pro GRT

It was a wet and wild weekend in Windrock, Tennessee for the aptly named Windrock Tennessee National. The event serves as the first stop in the four part Pro GRT, and comes in as a UCI C1 event. In in addition to being a major shake out event for the early season go-getters, the week prior serves as  a valuable testing opportunity for those on the SRAM and RockShox platforms.

At this year’s event, Trek Factory Racing was represented by California native Charlie Harrison, and junior racer Ethan Shandro. Please note that all images in this story are from team camp and not the event. It’s still the same riders so that’s a plus!

Always upbeat, always looking for the podium

Charlie came into the weekend feeling positive, and looked excellent with the top time in qualifying.

This weekend was amazing," said Charlie Harrison. "First race with the team couldn’t have gone smoother, everyone worked together very efficiently and did everything they could to make my job as easy as possible. Conditions were very tough all weekend, but I was happy to be able to put a solid race run together. I’m very content with where myself and the team is at the moment, and feel we’re in a good place heading into the first World Cup in a few weeks.

His boy band days are in the past, it's all DH now

Ethan Shandro made some big moves this weekend, taking the best time overall for qualifying. When it came down to race day, first was his by around 10 seconds. A strong outing for the first year junior who is showing some real speed.

Fun weekend in the mud, really enjoyed the track," said Ethan. "Thanks to the organizers, trail builders and volunteers who made the race happen. Great way to start the season off.
