Thank you Athertons!

Athertons and Trek part ways after three incredible seasons

After three spectacular years, Atherton Racing and Trek will part ways. In what can only be seen as one of the strongest partnerships in the company’s history, the team witnessed unparalleled success including Rachel Atherton’s Perfect Season,  numerous World Championship and World Cup wins, alongside invaluable work in the Atherton’s community.

Rachel Atherton is the most awarded British mountain-biker in the history of the sport. As well as 10 UK National titles she is six times Downhill World Champion (counting junior title), six times Downhill World Cup Overall Champion, twice European Champion and the proud owner of 37 World Cups. The 2018 season was one for the record books, with a World Championship medal and the overall World Cup win.

Gee Atherton is known for his aggressive style as well as all-in attitude, and that has certainly defined his time at Trek. Although plagued with bad luck and injury, his dedication to perfection and top results is always there. A top finish at the end of 2018 in La Bresse, and a win at Redbull Hardline made it a year to remember.

Dan Atherton has been the guiding light of the program for many years, with his vision expanding to his community as much as the team. The home region of Wales that the Atherton clan calls home has seen an incredible rebirth, with cycling as a major catalyst. Dan Atherton has been a major part of that, getting the whole community behind the idea of life on two wheels.

Trek is elated to celebrate its time with the Atherton Racing clan, and wish them the best in their future endeavors!

Stay tuned this week for more information on the future of Trek’s gravity program.
