Downhill racer Charlie Harrison smashes first race of the season
At his first round of downhill racing this year, Charlie Harrison took top step over the weekend. It was a US domestic competition, the NW Cup in Tamarack, Idaho.
“First of all, it’s just a blessing to be able to travel domestically. It’s been quite some time spent at home, so I was definitely itching to get out, as I’m sure most people are. The race weekend was refreshing. Up until this weekend, the last time I raced was in September. It felt really good to finally be able to put all the things I’ve been working into practice,” Charlie said.
Just to be back in the race mindset was a breath of fresh air.
“I really enjoyed Tamarack, it’s a breathtaking location, and the track was quite enjoyable. Just to be back in the race mindset was a breath of fresh air. Seeding was a bit of a bummer, as I had a big crash in my run. However, I was stoked to re-group and put down a winning run on Sunday. All in all, a solid weekend and I am grateful to have had a solid US race to go enjoy!”
