EWS Olargues

TFR Enduro keeps consistent in France

For the third round of the Enduro World Series, it was off to beautiful Olargues, France. Stunning vistas and technical trails met the Trek Factory Racing team.

Ruaridh Cunningham was ready to race, looking to continue his upward trajectory in the discipline of enduro.

Ruaridh came into the weekend looking for consistency.

"My first French EWS was certainly one to remember," said Ruaridh. "Long days on the bike and some of the most technical stages I've ever ridden made for an awesome event."

"All in all i'm happy with 14th and its definitely another step in the right direction for me. I was a little disappointed with my pace on the first day but to turn it around and jump from 35th to 14th on day 2 was a big positive, especially with the last few stages being so demanding. Looking forward to heading home and building ahead of round 4 in Petzen/Jamnica in a months time."

Katy Winton continued her assault on the overall with consistent results until a flat on day one and a tough crash on stage seven derailed her chances. Her times and quick pace still secured her a sixth place finish on the weekend.

"Day two wasn't any less eventful for me unfortunately, first two stages were okay, but the legs weren't there after my big effort on day one," said Katy. "Had a big crash on stage seven sending me over the bars. From there just worked to make it to the finish safely."

Pedro Burns was looking to learn at the EWS in France.

"Round three of the EWS was a big challenge for me," said Pedro Burns. "We had two big days of racing in really technical conditions, rains just before the race weekend made the stages really slick. The team did an amazing job all week. Tyler and Alex kept the bikes shining and working really well, James always helping to put the riders in the best position to perform, and we the riders always giving our best in and out of the stages. For me I came back home feeling satisfied with the experience gaining and looking forward for the next round."
