The Dirty Kanza is a 200 mile race through the rolling gravel hills of Emporia, Kansas. It is without a doubt one of the most difficult cycling events that exist. Jens Voigt and Sven Nys were two people who learned just how hard this event was.
Sven was in the mix with the lead riders, but suffered from flat tires and an upset stomach. He sadly dropped out, leaving Jens to fight on.
Jens Voigt finished the event just as the sun was setting, sneaking into the top-100. But as anyone who takes on the event will tell you, just getting to the finish line is the real prize.
