Trek-Segafredo General Manager Luca Guercilena shares a message to our athletes, fans, and sponsors.
The wheels have stopped.
It’s time to act responsibly during this emergency in which emotions and rationality mix.
The bright start to the season, the desire to do well, especially in view of the upcoming events, had projected us into a new dimension.
We are now on standby, as we should be because people’s health comes before sporting joys.
For the millions of fans who follow the races, we spread passion. It is a feeling that we share with the public, to which an element is added: professionalism.
For us, cycling is in fact our love and our profession. It is in moments like these that those who have the burden and the honor of directing operations require lucidity, ability, and, above all, humanity.
This emergency has slowed us down, but it hasn’t stopped us!
We direct our energy into managing a new and unimaginable daily life, full of new facets; a new way of seeing the future. We are doing so with the same enthusiasm with which we have competed in the last two months.
Our athletes are the protagonists of the sport we love and by guaranteeing them the support they deserve, we are confident that once again, they will be an inspiration for many.
When the authorities tell us that we can resume, we will be ready and ambitious to continue our season. Once again ready to share passion and emotion with fans and to repay the trust of our sponsors who have shown us their unwavering support, even in this difficult time.
Now we must be responsible and determined, firstly to reach the GPM, and from there we can begin the descent that leads to the finish.
Andrà tutto bene. Everything will be okay.
