The experienced Italian rider is the final addition of the Team ahead of the 2022 season
Trek-Segafredo adds an important dose of experience to its 2022 roster with the signing of Dario Cataldo. The Team and the 36-year-old Italian rider have agreed on a one-year contract. He is the last piece of the transfer campaign for the coming season, making him the 31st rider of the men’s roster and the 11th new arrival.
On the other hand, for Cataldo Trek-Segafredo will be the sixth team in his long career after Liquigas, QuickStep, Sky, Astana and, for the last two seasons, Movistar. A wealth of global and solid experience, built over fifteen years dedicated to professional cycling, in which he has distinguished himself as a valuable teammate with 23 grand tours to his credit. Cataldo has also personally achieved 11 successes in his career, including the Italian time trial championship and a stage of the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España above all.

Dario Cataldo:
“I join Trek-Segafredo after several years in which I have consolidated my position as road captain and reliable domestique. It is a role in which I see myself fitting well, thanks to the experience gained in great teams and alongside strong leaders. I believe that my many years as a pro-rider are an added value in a group. The management of the race, peloton dynamics and the group harmony between different personalities are key factors in a race. We’ll have time and chance to discuss specific goals and programs at the team camp, but I already can’t wait to start.
“I definitely approach this new experience with great enthusiasm. I know I’m joining a solid and well equipped group, that has always shown competence and vision. I have known Luca since a long time, we worked together for two years in Quick Step. I have great respect for him, both as a man and as a manager. When we spoke, he gave me great confidence in the Trek-Segafredo project. The idea of paying it back will be one of my biggest incentives.
