Welcome to a moment in history
Let it forever be written: Lizzie Deignan won the first ever women’s edition of Paris-Roubaix. After the race she was choked up, barely able to eke out her words: “I feel already emotional. I don’t know. I’m just so happy.”
She rode a perfect race. Going solo with 73 kilometers to go and holding off all challengers on what was a historic day. Teammates Elisa Longo Borghini and Audrey Cordon-Ragot took third and eighth, respectively, to put the cherry on top of what has been an incredible season-long effort by a tight knit team.
Just soak in this moment.
