Evie wins XCC #2 in Nove Mesto

A back to back short track win for Evie Richards

Two shorts track events, and two wins. Evie Richards lead the team in good results today, after taking another solid victory in the day’s short track (XCC) event. Evie kept close to the front all event, eventually having a slow speed crash coming into the last lap. After a quick recovery and a dramatic chase back, Evie sprinted to a narrow win over the reigning World Champion.

For the other riders, it was hectic battle of being as close to the front as possible, and doing their best in the finale. Emily Batty finished the day in 27th, with Anton Cooper taking a strong 7th, and Stephane Tempier in 12th. Jolanda Neff opted to not race today, focusing on rest in advance of Sunday’s full distance event (XCO).

The spring to the line

I've been doing a bunch these types of 20 minutes races at home to practice, and I think it's all coming together on a day like today. Overall the XCC is something I am able to excel in, and it's great to take the win.

Anton keeping things consistent with his results this weekend

More racing this weekend with the full distance (XCO) this coming Sunday.
