Elisa
Balsamo

Elisa announced herself as one of the best riders in the world when she outsprinted Marianne Vos to win the 2021 World Championship road race in Leuven. She overcame the so-called "rainbow jersey curse" during her reign as World Champion by winning nine races in 2022, her first with Lidl-Trek, including Gent-Wevelgem, the Italian national championship and two stages of the Giro d'Italia, where she also wore the iconic Maglia Rosa. In 2023, she continued to demonstrate that she's one of the best finishers on two wheels, opening the season with back-to-back stage wins at Setmana Ciclista-Volta Comunitat Valenciana Fèmines, with the help of lead-outs from old friend Ilaria Sanguineti. When the action is heating up at the end of a long race, you can bet that Elisa will be there, poised to attack.
