One of the most popular riders in the WorldTour peloton to continue racing in Lidl-Trek colours through 2028
Since joining the Team in 2018, Toms Skujiņš – a six-time Latvian champion has gone on to become one of Lidl-Trek’s most versatile riders, working his way into the hearts of the Lidl-Trek extended family.
Not only for me, but for many I think it would be hard to imagine me riding on a different bike and in a different jersey.
Equally dependable on the hills, cobbles or in a lead-out train, this contract extension for Skujiņš will see him reach eleven seasons representing Lidl-Trek.

“I had a really tough spring and for the first time in my career missed all the Classics, but the Team was very supportive and, even during that period, didn’t hesitate to give me a contract extension. This was just another sign that I have found my place and my people. Not only for me, but for many I think it would be hard to imagine me riding on a different bike and in a different jersey.
“From day one Luca [Guercilena, former General Manager] and Trek put their faith in me and now, even with us growing a lot, Andy Schleck [CEO] and the Team still see the value I bring both in races and off the bike. The respect between myself and the organisation is very mutual.
“I am very excited to see the team grow and happy I can be a part of it. Over the years, we really have grown together! I have grown as an athlete and human and the underdog team has grown into one of the top five teams in the world. Luckily even with the growth, we have managed to keep the same friendly atmosphere and especially as my years in the sport go on I understand more and more how important that is.
“For the next two years I still have some big personal goals one of which is competing in the LA Olympics and every year the Classics still get me very excited and motivated, but also I hope to be part of the team when we win another Monument, as it’s been a while, and hopefully a nice Grand Tour podium.”
