Born and raised near Nevers, France, Julien Bernard joined the team as a stagiaire in 2015 and confirmed his talent and place in the team with an unexpected leadership role and a 10th place finish at the USA Pro Challenge in Colorado. He signed a pro contract for 2016 and is now beginning his fourth year with the team. Julien, 26, is a strong climber and has shown immense improvement over the years, learning heaps riding in support of the team's GC leaders. Julien completed his first Grand Tour, the Vuelta a España, in 2016, checked the Giro d'Italia off his list a year later, and finally realized his dream in 2018 by completing his first Tour de France in his home country.
